Earobics

Earobics is an award-winning literacy intervention tool for students who:

·                     Experience speech and language delays

·                     Have auditory processing or attention deficit disorders

·                     Struggle with language-based learning disabilities

·                     Have dyslexia or reading difficulty

It uses sophisticated computer training techniques, including adaptive training, acoustic/sound enhancement of the speech signal and systematic control of key learning variables. The adaptive training technology automatically adjusts game play to the skill level and progress of each student. It also systematically controls the amount of visual cueing and auditory feedback, the rate at which sounds are presented, the length of sound units and the amount of background noise competing for the student’s attention.

The software carefully guides students through learning, giving them more help when they need it and fading cues as their skills develop.

There are three Earobics software programs available:

Earobics Step 1

Earobics Step 2

Earobics 1 for
Adolescents & Adults

Hundreds of levels of activities help focus and motivate students to practice and succeedIn this activity, students visit the Duck Luck Arcade for some old-fashioned carnival fun that teaches rhyming and other sound-pattern recognition skillsIn this activity, students try to match a word, syllable or sound they hear to the correct sound; to help students be successful, rays of light are associated with sound

Earobics Step 1: For developmental ages 4 to 7
This level stresses phonological awareness and processing skills such as syllables and sound blending, segmenting, rhyming and sound discrimination.
It features six interactive games with over 300 levels of play. It systematically teaches the critical phonological awareness, auditory processing and introductory phonics skills required for learning to read and spell. The games also develop general cognitive skills that support learning, such as attention and memory.

Earobics Step 2: For developmental ages 7 to 10
This level teaches insertion, deletion, and substitution of sounds to make new words, as well as more advanced phonics skills and oral language processing skills. It features five interactive games with nearly 600 levels of play. Earobics Step 2 addresses all of the skills targeted in Earobics Step 1, but at more advanced levels. It also teaches language processing skills that are critical for extracting meaning from spoken language and written text.

Earobics Step 1 for Adolescents and Adults

This level concentrates on phonological awareness skills and processing skills such as segmenting, blending, rhyming and sound discrimination.

It provides sophisticated, game style multimedia instruction designed to appeal to adolescents and adults who are struggling to read faster, spell better and improve their comprehension.

At Brain & Language Connections, we offer Earobics as a component of the Positive Processing Program, individually or completed at home as an adjunct to therapy.
